# Back in the 19th century, the thermal waters of Escaldes aroused the interest of many foreign companies, which announced their intention to set up a thermal and recreational centre aimed at an élite tourism, but it was only in the 1990s that at last the spa fun centre was opened.

# The thermal water, which at the beginning of the 20th century had been the motor for the first hotel infrastructure in the village of Escaldes, is now the main player in the new projection of Andorran tourism in the international arena.

# Caldea, which develops the idea of spa fun, something different from the traditional spa routine, contains a playful element, with a building made entirely of glass in the shape of a frozen mountain, and designed by the French architect Jean-Michel Rouls.
