Freestyle olympic 1988 venue.
The freestyle ballet skiing site was located on the west side of the recreational ski
hill. It was situated parallel to and immediately east of the west triple chair.
Grading of the site met all FIS standards and was attained by using earth-moving
equipment in the summer months to provide the proper hill contours. During the
winter, snow grooming equipment was utilized to fine-tune the site for
competition.
The ballet site accommodated up to 15 000 spectators. The majority of the
spectators were located on the east and north ends of the site. The mobile
scoreboard utilized for the aerials competitions and the bobsleigh and luge track
was moved to the ballet site during competitions.
