A new attraction with the theme from the Disney-Pixar movie franchise "Cars" is seen under construction at the Disney California Adventure Park.
Cars Land opened on June 15, 2012 on the site of a former parking lot. The 12 acre site is modeled after Radiator Springs, the southwestern town seen in the Cars movies.
Along with restaurants and shops, the attraction features a high-banked slot car ride called Radiator Springs Racers, a whip ride called Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, and an air hockey table-like ride called Luigi's Flying Tires.
