Real Fuerza is a star located on the western side of the Havana harbor. It is considered one of the oldest forts in the Americas. The fort was completed in 1577 after the previous fort was destroyed by French privateer Jacques se Sores in 1555.

The fort was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 as a part of "Old Havana and its Fortifications".
