Central Park (Memorial Park), Calgary

Calgary, Canada (CA)
Central Park was designed at the turn of the century in imitation of the many parks designed by Frederick Olmstead in the eastern United States. After the First World War (1914-1918), the park was renamed Memorial Park as a tribute to the thousands of Albertans who gave their health or their lives in service to the Empire. The park contains the city's cenotaph as well as the Memorial Park Library. At night it contains a rather different form of entertainment!
