Thrilled by the perfume of smoked pork as I entered the front door, my mouth began to water as I scanned the menu: beef brisket, Memphis BBQ pork (enhanced with a spicy, tomato-based sauce), smoked turkey, red hots, burnt ends, racks of ribs, and…ultra-tender Carolina pulled pork. I ordered this sandwich (pictured above) on Texas toast, and the tangy vinegar sauce seeped into the bottom bread quite nicely. Admittedly, Connecticut is no place to find great BBQ, which is what makes Chester’s such a godsend in this corner of New England.
