In 2011, Chevrolet introduced a ZL1 variant of the 5th generation Camaro at the Chicago Auto Show. With more than 30% of the SS being re-engineered for the ZL1, it boasted a supercharged 6.2 LSA engine that produced 580 horsepower and 556 lb-ft (754 nm) of torque, in which during its run was the most powerful production Camaro Chevrolet has ever produced. It can make the sprint to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
