A photosphere taken from the John Hancock Center shows the Lake Michigan shore along the city's near north side. This was taken on an unusually smog-free day with calm waters on the lake. A rare sight.
The Oak Street Beach appears in the foreground. In the middle of the photo is the North Avenue Beach and Lincoln Park. Off in the distance is the Montrose Avenue Beach.
Countless TV shows and movies have filmed from those beaches, showing the city's skyscrapers in the background.
