Claude Giroux arrested (1 July 2014) (StreetView)
On Canada Day, Philadelphia Flyers hockey player Claude Giroux was arrested at the Great Canadian Cabin nightclub for repeatedly grabbing a male police officer's butt. Sources say that alcohol was a factor. Giroux spent the night in jail, but he was released the next day after authorities decided not to press charges.

Two days later, Giroux released a statement apologizing for his "misguided attempt at humor".

Giroux was drafted in the first round by Philadelphia in 2006. In February 2008, he made his NHL debut. He played in his first NHL All-Star Game in 2011. He replaced the injured Chris Pronger as the Flyers captain in January 2013.
