In 1964, Coachmen Industries was founded by three brothers: Tom, Keith and Claude Corson.

In 1969, the Company became a public company, and in 1972 Coachmen was first listed on the American Stock Exchange. In January of 1978, the stock was approved for trading on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1984, Coachmen joined the ranks of the prestigious Fortune 500.
Today Coachmen Industries, Inc. has grown to become a diverse corporation. Aside from the Company's recreational vehicle operations, Coachmen Industries also is the country's largest producer of modular housing. Other markets served by Company divisions include automotive parts and accessories as well as fiberglass and ABS components for recreational vehicles.
