John Barry (March 25, 1745 - September 13, 1803) was a naval officer during the American Revolutionary War. Barry and John Paul Jones have been credited as the fathers of the American Navy. Barry was the first commissioned officer placed in command of a US warship under the Continental flag.

Barry was burried in Old St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA.
