Conwy Castle is open daily between April and October from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Between November and March, the castle is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:00 to 4:00 on Sunday (closed December 24 -26).

Entrance fee is £4.70 for adults with discounts available for children and seniors.

Conwy Castle

As part of a ring of new castles, King Edward I commissioned the Conwy Castle in order to control the Welsh population under English rule. Construction continued between 1283 and 1289.

Most of the castle is available to explore, but caution should be taken at all times since the stairs are narrow and railings are short. And since everything is made of stone, extra caution needs to be taken on rainy days (such as the one we encountered on our visit) because everything becomes extra slippery.
