Cropmark of Roman Fort

Cropmark of Roman Fort

Yeovil, United Kingdom (GB)
Just outside Bradford Abbas in Dorset, England, a photograph, taken by chance in 2010 by a reconnaissance aircraft, reveals the outlines of a Roman camp in the Dorset Countryside. Strips of different coloured crops show the outline of the fort, spreading across different fields. The cropmarks are also clearly visible in several Google Earth satellite images.

The cropmarks show the outline of a Roman camp that served as a temporary post, between different forts, for Roman soldiers on marches across the country.
