He is the former-CEO of Read-Rite Corp., the world's top supplier of thin-film recording heads, a component used in Winchester disk drives to read data stored on a computer's hard disk. Read-Rite also manufactures the head stack assemblies that house these thin-film recording heads, holding a small but growing market share in that segment.


He is a director of Tektronix, widely known as Tek, is one of the world's largest makers of test and measurement instruments, such as digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and signal generators. In particular, Tektronix is the world's largest maker of oscilloscopes.

He lives in Los Altos Hills, Ca.
