Dr. David Dao is a physician who practices internal medicine.
On 10 APR 2017, video footage whent viral showing police officers forcibly dragging Dr. Dao off of a United Airlines flight from Chicago's O'Hare Airport after the airline over-booked the flight and none of the passengers volunteered to give up their seats.
Dr. Dao objected to being removed due to his being a physician and having to see patients the next day. United Airlines staff had airport police forcibly remove Dr. Dao from the plane, which resulted in his head being slammed on the armrest, busting his lip open, and knocking him unconscious as the officers dragged him from the plane.
