Dian Fossey (1932 to 1985) was an American primatologist known for her 18 year long study of Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda.

Her grave is next to the plot where many of "her" gorillas found a resting place after their death. Among them are Digit, her favorite gorilla which was murdered. Dian Fossey was also a murder victim.
