Richard O. Jacobson is founder of the Jacobson Companies, a Des Moines corporation that is one of the largest privately owned warehouse companies in the nation. In 2012, he pledged a $100 million gift to the Mayo Clinic to establish a proton-beam therapy program at the clinic’s cancer center in Rochester and at a new facility in Phoenix.
