Wilbur Ross is an investment banker who has been chosen to be Donald Trump's Secretary of Commerce. This home was bought by Ross' wife, Hilary Geary Ross and her former husband, John W. Geary II. Wilbur and Hilary met at a party in 1995, when both were still married to their previous spouses. At the time, Ross was married to Betsy McCaughey, who was lieutenant governor of New York.

The home was previously owned by Milicent Hearst, wife of William Randolph Hearst.
