Elsie Poncher made headlines in 2009 when she ran into some trouble paying off the mortgage on her 6,200 sq. foot Beverly Hills home. Mrs. Poncher, whose entrepreneur husband died in 1986, decided to put his gravesite up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $500K. Mr. Poncher is currently entombed in a crypt directly above Marilyn Monroe's grave in Westwood.

Despite the apparent enthusiasm of Marilyn Monroe fans (the bidding reached $4.6 million) the two auctions she held failed after both winners backed out.

Still, perhaps everything worked out for the best. As of 2012, Mr. Poncher still sleeps next to Marilyn Monroe and Mrs. Poncher continues to own her home.
