Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is the ruling Emir of Abu Dhabi and the President of the United Arab Emirates.
He inherited this Costa del Sol estate from his father, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the former Emir who died in 2004 after a 38-year reign.

The family purchased it around 1980.
