The late Ernest G. Herman was a well known philanthropist to the field of opthalmology, donating to International Council of Ophthalmology Foundation, EyeCare America and the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology. Herman was also a major donor to the Jules Stein Eye Institute (JSEI) since its inception. He used to own this house.

Today, the house belongs to Michael G. Herman.
