Esam Ghazzawi is an advisor to the Saudi royal family.
A new report from the FBI revealed that 1-2 weeks prior to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Ghazzawi and his son, Anoud al-Hijji, fled the country for Saudi Arabia along with their wives, leaving behind their clothes, furniture, cars, and refrigerators full of food. It was also revealed that Mohamed Atta, the leader of the attacks who piloted American Airlines flight 11 into the north tower of the World Trade Center, had visited the Ghazzawi residence numerous times in the months prior to the attacks. Atta and two of the other hijackers took flight training courses at the Venice Airport just 19 miles from the Ghazzawi home.
Anoud al-Hijji is currently living in London as an executive with Saudi Aramco, the state-run Saudi oil company.
