Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Johnson family

Stephen Johnson is a firefighter, who was nominated for this home makeover by Mary Seymour, a paramedic whose life he helped save in February 2004. While responding to a house explosion emergency call, paramedics, police officers, and fire fighters were being shot at by a sniper. Johnson braved the gunfire to get the wounded paramedic safely away from the scene. A single father of five (including two boys he adopted), he worked three jobs to make ends meet.

ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" tore down his 1,600 square foot house and created this 4,200 square foot home in one week. Original airdate - May 8, 2005.
