Piëch is an Austrian engineer and billionaire. As a grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, he owns a significant share of the German automanufacturer. Piëch is currently the chairman of the supervisory board of Volkswagen, he held a multitude of executive roles during his career (Porsche, Audi, VW) and has been named "Car Executive of the Century" in 1999.
As of 2014, Austrian "trend" magazine estimates the net worth of the German-Austrian Piëch-Porsche clan at roughly €45 billion.
