'Ferne Nähe' by Lutz Fritsch

Bonn, Germany (DE)
"In dealing with the architecture, the three parts of the building, its materiality, its transparency, I developed the sculpture 'Distant Proximity'. The title refers partly due to the transparency and the reflections of the architecture itself, on the other hand, the fact that a scientist as well as an artist in his series of studies always believed the goal of the result to be close, while it actually is still a long way off. The sculpture, one hand should grasp to penetrate the building, the scientists have always in mind and also have a long-range effect, the here, show the location of caesar.

In front of the building, visible from afar, the 25-meter-high, red-painted stele, which towers over the building. At the top of the stele is a cylindrical lamp head, day and night, light green Morse sends: short long short long short short short short short short long short long short (caesar). Morse light signal - an internationally understandable language. The information sent is text input from Caesar himself, about the research, the results, what they want to send information as caesar, as a message in the distance.
