First mid-air collision of airliners

The first mid-air collision of airliners took place on 7 April 1922 over Picardie, France, involving British and French passenger-carrying biplanes.

The collision in fog of the British aircraft flying Croydon-Paris with only mail on board with the French aircraft flying three passengers Paris-Croydon resulted in seven deaths.
