Description:Located on the restricted Prescott Peninsula in Quabbin Reservoir, the Five College Radio Astronomical Observatory (FCRAO) was founded in 1969 by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College and Smith College. A 14-M telescope operates at millimeter wavelengths.
