Five San Francisco Defense Batteries

The batteries from south to north in a line are Godfrey just west of the baseball diamond, Boutelle is the tiny little two-holed battery, Marcus Miller is the two half circles with pads next to them, Cranston abuts the road, and Lancaster is underneath the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge.

These batteries were installed in the late 1800s and upgraded through WWII when the were salvaged because they were no longer needed.
