Former Brockley Hill Underground Station (Never Used and Unfinished)

Barnet, United Kingdom (GB)
Brockley Hill was a planned tube station in London on the planned extension of the Northern line from Edgware (open) to Bushey Heath (never opened).

The station was planned to be built on a 16 arched stone viaduct and would have had two platforms. The railway would have crossed the A41 main road before entering Brockely Hill.

The stations and extension were planned and construction did start. However, WWII broke out and the plans were stopped and since then have been abandoned.

What's left today:
Even though the station never opened, construction did start. Next to the A41 you can see the remains of an unfinished bridge abutment. The viaduct that would have carried Brockley Hill had also started construction, but only the half finished brick arches remain in a field. The rest of the station was never built. After Edgware station, workers had left an opening for the planned railway, but today houses have been placed in the opening. The former opening can still be clearly seen, from the sky, as the houses are more modern than the surrounding houses and dead end roads are also still visible.

An interesting video explaning the whole thing in more detail:
