Former Hall Caine Airfield

The Airfield was named for the famous Manx novelist Sir Hall Caine.

The Airfield was resquistioned by the Royal Air Force at the start of WWII in order to support the new RAF training airfield at Jurby.

Today all that is left of the airfield is a wooden pole and a few foundations.

Hall Caine Airfield (also known as Close Lake Airfield was a civilian airfield in the north of the Isle of Man not far from the town of Ramsey.

The Airfield opened on 30 April 1935 and closed on 25 January 1943.

The Airfield was named for the famous Manx novelist Sir Hall Caine.
