This is the home that Gen Edwin Walker lived in when an assassination attempt was made on his life on April 10th 1963. The shooter is believed to have been Lee Harvey Oswald who later became infamous as the alleged lone assassin of President John F. Kennedy on the 22nd of November 1963.

The vacant lot north of the house was previously occupied by a church that was mentioned in General Edwin's testimony to the Warren Commission. It is alleged that Oswald shot at Gen Walker through a back window of this house. The bullet struck the window sash and missed the General. The attached link is a transcript of Gen Walker's testimony to the Warren Commission about the events of April 10th 1963.
