Former Kipling Cotes Railway Station

Former Kipling Cotes Railway Station (StreetView)
Kipling Cotes Station was opened May 1848 (first in timetable) and closed 29.11.1965. Kipling Cotes Station was part of the York - Beverley Line in England.

Today a cycleway and footpath called The Hudson Way now goes through the site of the station. All Station buildings and the cattle dock are still there and in good condition. The station building has been extended and is now a private house. The signal box now serves as an information centre for The Hudson Way. The goods shed is now a furniture shop called Kiplingcotes Furniture. Both platforms survive and a modern sign with the name of the station is now on the down platform. The down platform also has a fence running along its edge. The up platform is now overgrown and concrete supports for the name board survive.

Note: the brick building on the right in the thumbnail is the old signal box, the white building is the goods shed and behind the goods shed is the cattle dock. The platforms and station buildings are further down the line.
