Former Over & Wharton Railway Station

Former Over & Wharton Railway Station

Winsford, United Kingdom (GB)
Over & Wharton Station opened 3.7.1882, closed to passengers 16.6.1947 and closed completely March 1991. Over & Wharton Station was part of the London North Western Railway in England.

Today nothing of the station remains. Part of the plateau that the station and yard was on has been demolished to make room for the A0518 dual carriageway. The east part of the station site has also been demolished to make room for gardens for houses. There is some old brickwork on an embankment next to some billboards that may be the remains of the back end of a platform that was behind the buffer stops.
