Former RAF Carnaby Landing Strip

Burton Agnes, United Kingdom (GB)
Three massive emergency runways were built by the RAF in Britain during the war. RAF Carnaby was opened in March 1944. More than 1.400 bombers made emergency landings during its active days. The runway closed in 1963 and Carnaby Industrial Estate now occupies the site. However, from the air, it is still clearly visible.
