The railway went from Aalborg, through the Eastern Himmerland and to Hadsund.

42 km of trackbed has been preserved and still clearly visible. Most of line is now preserved and is now a cycle and walk path. The stations buildings have been restored and are also preserved. Some of the smaller stations (halts) are now demolished. Parts of the trackbed is also used for old veteran trains.
