The depot was part of tram connection in Kingston upon Hull, England. The route was a 4 ft 8 1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) following the five main roads out of the city centre.
Quite a few remnants of the old tram line still remain today. On Anlaby Road a short section of track has survived and this is the former entrance to the Wheeler Street Depot. The offices of the Cottingham Road depot and the original horse tram depot at Jesmond Gardens, Holderness Road are still extant.
In the town's outskirts the tracks were built in the central reservation of the roads and these sections on Anlaby, Holderness, Hessel and Beverley road have now been converted to form a wide central grass section between the duel carriageways.
