Fort Stanwix

Rome, New York (NY), US
The original Fort Stanwix was the site of a failed British seige in August of 1777, and is traditionally thought to be the first place that the American flag was flown in battle. This reconstruction was built in the 1970s after an archaeological dig on the original site was completed.
