He released over 70 albums in a career that spanned five decades, selling over 45 million records worldwide, including twelve gold albums, four platinum albums, and one double-platinum album. In 1968, during one of his biggest years, he even outsold the Beatles.

Born in 1936 Campbell was born in 193 in Arkansas. From these humble beginnings he grew into one of the most legendary and well known country musicians. His hits like, "Gentle on My Mind", "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife", "Wichita Lineman" (1968), "Galveston", "Rhinestone Cowboy" and "Southern Nights" earned him a reputation as one of the best musicians of his time. His was a classic American story of rags to riches, from life on the farm to the silver screen. Campbell was a true American cowboy of his age. A titan of classic country, Glen Campbell died on August 8, 2017 at the age of 81 after battling with Alzheimer's Disease.
