Great Wall of China

This is one of several photospheres along this segment of the Great Wall of China.

For several centuries dating back to the 700's BC, the Chinese empire built sections of walls to defend against attacks. Over time, the walls were joined and eventually became known as the Great Wall. One study measured the entire length of the wall to be 13,171 miles.
