Greenwood Roadway

Greenwood Roadway

Milo, Iowa (IA), US
Greenwood Roadway was a 3 mile (4.8 km) road racing circuit which hosted a handful of major auto and motorcycle racing events from 1963-66. Attendance was hurt by insufficient seating and a lack of spectator access. The lack of revenue forced the track to close down.

Among the racing series who competed here were the Sports Car Club of America (6 times), the SCCA's United States Road Racing Championship (1), American Motorcyle Association National Championship (3), the International Karting Federation (5), and the United States Auto Club stock cars (1).

The first event was a SCCA Regional race held on June 8-9, 1963. A 50th anniversary reunion will take place here in 2013. The Gran Turismo video game series used Greenwood as inspiration for the video game's "Deep Forest Raceway".

The land is currently used for heavy equipment training.
