Ahh ... technology. That's both the funniest and saddest things I've seen in a long time. Perhaps some of Google umpteen-bazillion market cap could fix this neighborhood up? Maybe spread the wealth just a little? Maybe offer the community some hope? Some jobs? Nah ... let's just carry on moving ahead at the speed of light and forget about the people who can't catch up. |

Huh? A kid squirting his brother with a water pistol is sad and somehow Google's fault? And Google is now obliged to rebuild what looks to be a pretty decent neighborhood? I don't get it. |

I don't get it either. As far as Chicago communities go, this one (Chicago Lawn) is about average. U.S. Census data puts this neighborhood's median family income at $47,000, and the crime rate is well below other south side neighborhoods. |
