On this place, Gammel Kalkbrænderi Vej 16, stood the Villa Rolighed owned by a Melchior family. It was a family he visited very often. The Melchiors invited Hans Christian to move here from his home in Nyhavn on June 12. 1875.

Hans Christian died here of Liver Cancer on August 4. 1875 t 11:05 AM, aged 70.

The villa was demolished around year 1900. On the building today is a memorial plaque.
