The Battle of Hastings (aka Senlac Hill) was fought on 14 October 1066 between the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold II, during the Norman conquest of England. This is the view from the top of Senlac Hill, from the position of Harold who died at the end of the battle, Harold's death left the English forces leaderless, and they collapse under the Norman cavalry
