The art studio building at east second street, called Henington Hall, was built in 1900. It used to be a meeting place for speeches and political gatherings for a synagogue congregation. The building has a ballroom based on the design of webster hall. It was condemned for asbestos in the 1970s. Artist Joe Overstreet made a deal with the city and agreed to get rid of the asbestos if he could keep the building.
