Philip Hiss was a leading proponent of the Sarasota School. He orginally had a house across the street but it was torn down. There's a large addition on the back by Bert Brosmith & Carl Abbott, built for Hiss’ children & their nanny. Siebert, a Paul Rudolph apprentice, lived here while he supervised the construction of Rudolph's Umbrella House next door.
