The mission of the Hoose Library of Philosophy is to serve the educational and research needs of graduate and undergraduate students, as well as faculty, regarding all aspects of academic philosophy and its allied disciplines. The library's collection and resources primarily serve the School of Philosophy as well as other university departments interested in the philosophical foundations of the liberal arts and sciences. The collection and resources comprise more than 50,000 volumes. The collection is particularly rich in the intellectual history of Western civilization.
