Huntington Hartford was a billionaire businessman and heir to the A&P supermarket fortune, with a pre-1975 net worth of more than $2.5 billion. He was one if the richest people in the world. Hartford owned a home on this site called "Pompano." He was the original owner and developer of Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Hartford passed away in 2008 at the age of 97.
