I-96 Speedway held its first races in 1971. It currently consists of 3/8 mile and 1/2 mile dirt oval tracks. A motocross track was added in 2012 (visible in Google Maps).

Modifieds and stock cars race here weekly. Special events include sprint cars, flat track motorcycles, and demolition derbies. Over the years, the speedway has been named Ionia Raceway Park, New 96 Speedway, I-96 Raceway, Ionia County Speedway, and Clarke's Motor Speedway.
