The Italian Jump (Il trampolino Italia) was originally built in 1923. It was torn down and reconstructed twice in the years between its construction and the Olympic Games. The height of the hill was 72 m (236 feet). The grand stands at the base of the hill could accommodate 2,900 seated spectators with additional room for 40,000 standing spectators. The longest jump at the Olympics was 84 m (275.5 feet) by Antti Hyvarinen of Finland
