(NECN - Kailua, Hawaii) - President Obama and his Hawaiian vacation party, fresh from watching Ohio State defeat Oregon in the Rose Bowl, took a late afternoon New Year's Day trip to Island Snow shave ice and clothing store--one of the Obama's favorite haunts in Kailua.

The large Obama tribe--which included Malia, Sasha, family friends Marty Nesbitt and his family, Eric Whitaker and his family, island golfing buddies Greg Orme and Mike Ramos and others--ordered 19 shave ice cones in all the various flavors and colors of the rainbow, seven of them with ice cream on the bottom.

There were so many orders, Obama had to consult a cheat sheet with all of them written down.
